Sometimes people in English speaking countries talk about their pets as if they are children. As some of my students have told me, this is probably because of the connection a person has with their animal. When you have a pet, they definitely take a big part of your life.
I adopted my cat when I was studying in Turkey. Her name is Sultan. Currently, my mom is looking after her. My mom also has a cat of her own named Oliver. The two get along pretty well together. Although Sultan is smaller than Oliver, she is becoming somewhat of a bully. I hope this is just a phase and she’ll grow out of it.
Pictured below is Sultan in my old apartment in Turkey, laying in my bathroom sink.
