I love architecture in Japan! Of course I enjoy looking at famous shrines and tall towers, but what I like the most are all of the unusual buildings here. I am from a city that is built on a wide flat plain, so everything is very spread out and the buildings are on big lots so there is lots of space between them. But Japan has much more limited land, which calls for more creative building techniques. This is a picture of a building I saw in Tokyo. It is ten stories tall but only one room wide. I never saw a building like this before I came to Japan. It also looks like it has a few different businesses in it. But some floors don’t have any signs so they are a mystery. I wanted to look inside, but I could only see the entrance to store on the first floor. I hope they have an elevator somewhere!
