Summers in Japan are really hot and humid. This year was especially hot and I’ve been longing for the season to change since July. It’s been getting cooler lately, but today the temperature was perfect. It felt like fall. I’m so used to leaving my house in just my work clothes, but today I went back inside to get a hoodie and it felt great. Maybe it wasn’t quite hoodie weather, but I enjoyed the feeling of wearing layers and not being super sweaty.
Fall in my hometown is amazing. In fact, fall is the only time of year when I actually start feeling homesick. The weather is great, the holidays are great, and it’s my absolute favorite season. The feel of fall in Japan is quite different, but once the weather starts to change I can’t help but think about fall back home. I’m already getting in the mood for Halloween and I’ve got mulling spices ready to make some apple cider. I’m so happy the summer is over, and when fall officially arrives this weekend I plan to celebrate!
