Fun With Textiles

If you go to Daiso or Seria, they have small portions of 100% cotton fabric in cute designs. These are intended for small fabric crafts, but most especially for mask-making. The fabric masks I made last year have been very well-loved and used, and they’re definitely wearing out, so I decided to pick up some cool patterns to make new masks with. And to have some fun along the way.
So, I made a mask using a cute design in my school colors: purple and gold, as the front of the mask. The inside is made from some leftover black cotton fabric I had lying around. And while I was at Seria, I also picked up some soft black elastics, so I didn’t even have to make bias tape straps from scratch like I usually do! That was the nicest part, honestly. The whole project took maybe twenty-five minutes from start to finish. And at the end of it, my sewing companion kindly deigned to model my new gear.
