Disney’s Animal Kingdom Part 1!

Jambo, everyone! Disney’s Animal Kingdom holds a special place in my heart because there’s something for everyone. I love watching Festival of the Lion King and hear the music of Chakranadi, Kora Tinga Tinga and the Tam Tam Drummers back in the streets of Harambe in Africa. But what do you need to know about visiting the Animal Kingdom on your own? Well, follow along and you’ll find out!
As you approach the entrance, you’ll go through park security first! All you have to do is walk between the security scanners. They may ask you to take out certain items (such as umbrellas) before you walk through. If it is set off, you do have to step aside and undergo an additional bag check. But otherwise, you’re good to go ! At the entrance’s touchpoints, you scan your MagicBand, MagicMobile pass or RFID ticket.
Wait-times for attractions at Animal Kingdom can vary depending on the time of the day and the time of the year! The two attractions in Pandora , Avatar: Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey usually have the longest waits, often topping out at around two hours. We recommend riding them first thing in the morning or waiting until park close. Kilimanjaro Safaris fluctuates, as can Expedition Everest and DINOSAUR.
Check in again in two weeks for part two!
