My mother came to Japan in March and stayed with us for one month.  It was a good opportunity for her to spend some time with her grandchildren.  And since it’s spring, she made sure to plan her trip around one of the most famous times of year in Japan – cherry blossom season.  The cherry blossoms were a bit later than expected this year, but things worked out as we got to spend a great day at the park and enjoy them in full bloom.  We went to a park near our house in Nagoya and it surprisingly wasn’t so crowded.  We packed some food and found a great place to sit right at the base of a big tree.  The weather was great, the cherry blossoms were beautiful, and we had a great time.
