My first stop after crossing over onto Shikoku was in Matsuyama city. I didn’t realize how big of a city Matsuyama was before going there. There’s a big shopping street with lots to see and do. The castle in Matsuyama is also very magnificent. I didn’t get any pictures of the castle (oops), but I did get some great pictures of the city from the mountain that the castle is on. It’s a beatiful area right in the middle of the city!

Ding ding! Do you hear that music? It’s the sound of summer—the ice cream truck is coming!

In many American neighborhoods, the ice cream truck drives around during summer, playing cheerful music to let everyone know it’s near. Kids rush outside with their dollars, lining up to pick their favorite frozen treats.

There are so many choices! You might get a rocket pop with red, white, and blue stripes, a chocolate-dipped cone, or a rainbow sherbet push-pop. Some even look like cartoon characters with bubble gum eyes!

It’s not just about the ice cream—it’s the excitement. You hear the music, you run to ask your parents, and you hope the truck doesn’t pass your street too quickly. When you finally get your treat, it feels like magic in your hands.

Whether you’re licking a cone before it melts or trading bites with your best friend, the ice cream truck is pure summer joy. So next time you hear that song, grab your shoes and run!
