Fall is my favorite season for many reasons: the weather is good, the scenery is beautiful, and Halloween is right in the middle! I also like the food you can typically find in Fall. I love pumpkin, sweet potato, chestnut and CRAB! 🦀 Recently I had crab pasta at a restaurant in Ogaki. It’s an October special, so unfortunately I won’t be able to eat it much longer!  

前回のブログでバーベキューについて書きましたが、 先日ついにそのバーベキューをする機会がありました。 若いころはバーベキューというと 肉!!肉!!肉!! でしたが、年齢も上がってきたためか最近シーフードを食べる機会が多くなったので、 イカやアワビを使った海鮮バーベキューになりました。

みなさんこんにちは！すっかり涼しくなってきましたね。少し寒いくらいですね。これから冬が来ると思うとワクワクします。冬が大好きな僕からするとこの気温でもう心が躍り出します。今年の冬は家にこもってこたつでぬくぬくしたいと思います。こたつで昼寝するあのちょっとダメだけど気持ちの良い幸福感がたまりませんね。英語では「guilty pleasure」と言うようです。あなたは冬が好きですか？あなたの冬ならではの楽しみがあれば教えてください！  

One flower I’ve definitely never seen in Seattle is the lycoris. I’d seen them in anime many times before coming to Japan, however, and thought they were some of the most beautiful red flowers in the world. Having been fortunate enough to see many lycoris flowers in person two years in a row, I can safely say that that opinion still holds true.

 

They bloom in October, and I usually see them in clusters near water. Their vivid red coloring stands out against the lush, green foliage they generally tower over. That was one thing that really surprised me the first time I saw these blooms in person: their height. Anime really didn’t offer the perspective necessary to absorb how tall they are. It’s quite striking, especially in the trim outfields by the Ibi River.

 

The only thing the flowers can improve on is the length of time they bloom. I wish I had longer to appreciate them!

 

 

みなさんこんにちは。 先日、保育園の運動会へ行ってきました。 今年は、多くの学校がこの一大イベントを中止したり縮小したりと例年とは違う年ですが、みなさんの学校はどうでしたか? 今回子供の運動会を見に行くのは人生で2度目でしたが、 いつもとても感動させられます。 今回は役員としての参加だったので、 働いた分余計に充実感があったかもしれません。 学生のころは運動会が大好きといった子供ではなかったのですが、子供たちには運動会を大好きでいてほしいと思います。 冬を乗り越えるための体力づくりをするなど一日一日を大事にして、良い2020年だったと思えるようにこの秋を十分に楽しみたいですね！！
