みなさんこんにちは。

先日、英検の1次試験がありました。ハローズからもたくさんの生徒が受験しました。

来週には結果がわかりますが、3級以上を受験した子は3月に2次試験があります。

1次試験に合格した生徒とは、毎回特別2次試験対策練習をしています。

みんな合格に向けてがんばろう！

What is your favorite time of year?

Personally, I’m ready for spring!!!! To me, it feels like winter has been here for way too long! I am ready to say “GOOD BYE” to these cold days and “HELLO!!!” to the warmer days of spring! Ever since October I have been longing for long warm days filled with sunshine, open windows, birds singing, flowers, and lemonade. No more cold, gray, snowy, or cold rain days for me! I am ready to just skip February and head straight to spring!

I was just looking through some pictures recently and I came across this photo of cherry blossoms I took and it really got me thinking about how much I love spring, summer, and fall. So COME ON SPRING!!! Get here soon! I miss you!!!

アメリカで行われる映画の祭典・アカデミー賞の発表まで、残り20日になりました！

担当している高校生にOscars ballot（アカデミー賞投票用紙）を配布し、

作品賞・監督賞・脚本賞・主演男優賞・主演女優賞・助演男優賞・助演女優賞

外国語映画賞・主題歌賞・長編アニメーション賞

の10部門を予測してもらいました。日本でまだ公開されていないものもあるので、

ノミネートされた映画の内容を簡単に説明したり、アカデミー賞の前に発表される

他の映画賞の結果を教えたりして、みんなで考えました。

誰が一番多く受賞作品・受賞者を当てられるのか楽しみです。

My sister sometimes sends me pictures of her cats – which I thoroughly look forward to! They have crazy personalities, but are pretty shy when it comes to meeting new people. A while back I was cat-sitting for my sister and her husband. I was a little bit nervous because, even though I had been around their cats a few times, they never really warmed up to me. 

Well, when it came time that my sister and her husband left, the cats had no one to turn to but me. Desperate situations call for desperate measures! By the end of my stay with them, they were regularly snuggling up against me and sitting in my lap; I felt honored.

Of course, like all cats, as soon as my sister and her husband returned, the cats acted as if I had never been there and that we had never shared these precious moments! Picture below is one of my sister’s cats reclining on the couch.

みなさんこんにちは、2019年に入り既に１ヶ月がたちましたね！

年末年始のお話をしていなかったので、今日は初詣のお話をしたいと思います。

毎年年末年始は、みなさん家族で過ごすことが多いと思います。私自身も家族で

過ごすことが多かったのですが、ここ数年は友人と年を越すことが多くなりました。

今年も友人と年越しは伊勢神宮で過ごそうと計画を立てて、三重県に向かいました。

しかし、あらかじめインターネットで調べたり、伊勢神宮で年を越したことがある友人から

話を聞いている限りでは３１日はすごく混雑して身動きもとれない程だという話を聞いていたので

身構えていたのですが、想像してたよりは混雑することなく楽しむことができました！

12時を過ぎてからのお参りだったので、初詣は伊勢神宮だったのですが翌朝そのまま

京都に向かい下鴨神社でお参りをしてきました。

さて下鴨神社になぜ言ったかというと、お守りを買うためです。

下鴨神社にはほかにはない少し変わったお守りがあります。

何とレースでできたお守りです！そんな可愛らしいお守りを求め京都に行って手に入れてきました！
