One of my favorite memories of my childhood is drawing with my father.  My dad is a great artist and drawing was one of his biggest hobbies growing up, and thanks to him it became one of mine as well.  We used to sit at the dining room table with sketch pads and just draw for hours.  Thanks to him, I also fell in love with comic books at an early age, and creating new superheroes was so much fun.  

Creativity is very important and I really wanted to encourage my son to start drawing as soon as he could.  Fortunately, his nursery school also encourages children to draw and paint and make crafts.  It’s become something that he loves to do, and it makes me happy to see him so absorbed in his artwork.  The results are also really cute.  Here’s a picture of our two cats that he drew last week:

みなさんこんにちは。

今日から7月ですね。ということは、2020年もすでに半分終わってしまったということです。

今年は新型コロナウィルスの影響で、ここまでがとても速かった印象があります。

１年の目標を決めた人は、折り返しのこの時期にどれくらい目標に近づけているのかを振り返ってみてはいかがでしょうか。

ちなみに僕は１年の目標を決めたはずなのですが、何を目標にしたのかを忘れてしまいました。

今から半年の目標を決めてもいいのですが、また忘れる自信があるのでやめておきます。

まだまだ暑い日が続きますが、体調管理をしっかりとして毎日楽しく過ごしましょう！

Recently there have been a lot of beautiful hydrangeas all over Japan! I only knew about them from Animal Crossing, and they are very pretty in the game. But nothing prepared me for how beautiful they are in person!

I’ve seen so many different colors, pink, purple, blue and white! I’m not sure which are my favorite, since they are all so gorgeous. I wish I had the drive to plant some on my balcony so I can see them when I pull back my curtains. It’s ok though, since there are so many to in Ogaki and Gifu!

Hey y’all! 

 So one of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go swimming in Ibi river. The water is always so cold and refreshing. The best part though… IT’S FREE. It doesn’t matter what time of day or year, going to the river is always free and (almost) always open. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that truly make you happy. Going to the river with friends in the summer is one of those little things. However, the most important thing about going to the river is that barely anyone goes. It’s a great way to have a good time and social distance! 

 Anyways, I hope all of y’all are staying safe and are enjoying the small bit of freedom we are getting from theses difficult times.
