The next day of my trip took me to Takamatsu. Like Matsuyama, I didn’t know much about the city before going but was surprised by how big it was. There was a lot to do. I visisted the castle ruins, went to an observation deck to see the whole city from the sky, and even went to an art museum that was in the middle of a huge shopping street. I also happened to be in the city during a festival so I got to go and enjoy that, too! Of course, I was in Kagawa Prefecture, so I had to eat udon. It was delicious!

Yum! Summer is the perfect time to enjoy fresh, cool, and tasty snacks—especially when you can make them yourself!
Let’s start with fruit kabobs. Grab chunks of watermelon, grapes, pineapple, or strawberries and slide them onto a skewer or straw. They’re colorful, healthy, and super fun to eat!
Want something cold? Try making frozen banana pops. Peel a banana, dip it in yogurt, roll it in granola or chocolate chips, and freeze it. It’s like a mini banana ice cream bar!
Yogurt parfaits are great too. Layer yogurt, fruit, and cereal in a cup or jar. You can add a drizzle of honey or a few sprinkles to make it extra fun.
Need a super cool treat? Make your own juice popsicles! Pour juice (like orange or apple) into paper cups, stick in a spoon, and freeze. Boom—homemade pops!
Not only are these snacks tasty, but they’re also fun to make. You get to play chef and maybe even help your family prepare a summer picnic. Just be sure to wash your hands and ask an adult for help when using knives or the freezer.
Summer is all about sunshine, smiles, and snacks—so grab your ingredients and start munching!

Hey y’all!
I’ve seen some cute mascots in my day but Sadoki might be my favorite. At Toki No Mori Park on Sado Island in Niigata you can see the real bird! Although not as cute as the mascot, it was cool to see the bird hanging out in the summer breeze.
see y’all in class!
