みなさんこんにちは。 今日の夜はオリオン座流星群がピークで、天気が良ければたくさんの流れ星が見られるそうです。 暗くなったらオリオン座の方角を見てみてください。多いときは1時間に5個くらい見ることができるようです。 このオリオン座流星群と関係があるかは分かりませんが、昨日の夜、とても大きな流れ星を見ました。 今までにも何度か見たことがあるのですが、普通の流れ星よりも大きくて明るい流れ星です。 火の球と書いて「火球（かきゅう）」と言うそうです。 流れ星と言うより、時々ニュースにもなる「隕石」にイメージは近いかもしれません。 今回見た火球は黄色くて、3秒くらい見ることができました。 火球を見ると毎回思うのですが、何も準備をしていないのでお願い事をすることを忘れてしまいます。 今回ももちろん、流れ星を見てお願い事を！という心の準備をしていなかったので、「あっ！」と思っている間に消えてしまいました。   みなさんも普段から夜空を見てみると「火球」を見れるかもしれませんよ！ 今日はオリオン座流星群を楽しんでみてください。ただ、夜更かしには注意しましょう。  

Today I’m at our Gifu branch.  I was just getting ready for classes and went to look out the window to see if it was raining, and I saw this huge bee on the window!  It’s been sitting there for a while and it’s pretty scary!  Compared to America, lots of things in Japan are really small, but the bugs are shockingly big.  I’m glad that this guy is outside the window, but I wish it would fly away.  It kind of looks like he’s watching us!

Hey y’all! A few days ago my family dog, Dude, had his 13th birthday! Dude is an English Cream Retriever, so unlike Golden Retrievers, he has long blonde hair. He also has a very calm manor so he does a lot of lounging and sleeping. Dude was also a Christmas present from Santa, so you can only imagine how excited my brother and I were when he arrived Christmas morning! Anyways, I hope y’all enjoy this sweet picture of my dear Dude. I miss him so much and can’t wait to see him in March of 2021… At least, I hope I can make it to America by then… Stay safe and see y’all in class!

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well! I am really happy these days about the weather since it’s getting colder. Even though I’m use to hotter weather in Texas, I’ve always loved the cold. I would much rather walk around being a little chilly than super sweaty! This weather has made it really nice to walk around outside during the day. I’ll continue to be excited for winter too! It would be really cool to see some snow around Ogaki!

トライアスロンの大会で、ゴール直前にコースを間違えてしまったイギリス人選手（James Teagle）。

 

彼の後ろを走っていたスペイン人選手（Diego Mentriga）に追い越されてしまいます。

 

でもDiegoはゴール直前で立ち止まり、Jamesに３位でゴールすることを譲りました。

 

大会後のインタビューでDiegoは、『彼（James）はずっと自分の前を走っていたし、

 

メダルを受け取るにふさわしい』と話したそうです。　

 

スポーツをする人にとって結果は大切なはずなのに、

 

それでも寛容でフェアな判断を（とても自然に！）示すことができるなんて…
